Created by UN Women, the HeForShe solidarity movement for gender equality provides a systematic approach and targeted platform where men and boys can engage and become change agents for the achievement of gender equality. HeForShe believes that we can achieve gender equality in our lifetime.
University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and UN Women Ukraine will organize the discussion «Why men support feminism: discussion about men's studies and men's movement» with guests who are feminist activists and scholars Dr. Michael Kimmel (USA) and Dr. Michael Kaufman (Canada).

Moderator of event: Dr. Tamara Martsenyuk, Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology, University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, the author of "Masculinities and Men’s Studies” course.
Following questions will be discussed:
· the role of critical men’s studies in gender / feminist studies of Academia;
· what does it mean to be public feminist activist;
· challenges and opportunities of contemporary feminist (antiviolence) men’s movement.
